i’ve been sitting here staring at this computer screen for damn near a half an hour now with nothing to write. It’s over and i don’t know what to say.
We don’t have to bike tomorrow. In fact we don’t have to bike ever again for all that matters, and honestly, that’s fine with me, because we’re home. 4,942.2 miles and 90 days later, we’ve made it across the country and then some. It’s time to rest our bones.
Together with all of your help we were able to raise over $4000 for 4Walls International. THAT IS AMAZING! Seriously, this money will directly improve the lives of many. Together we are providing an affordable, sustainable and environmentally sound future to those who need it most. We thank you with every ounce of our beings.

I don’t know what to say either. Everything we do becomes the fabric of our being and manifests, mostly without trace, throughout all subsequent time and behavior, a never-ending and indistinct generation and manifestation of self. Anyway, that’s what your accomplishment made me think of. Thirty-seven years ago I did a one month camping trip through the western national parks with some people, NOT in an effort to raise money for the benefit of others, and I’ll always remember the trip. I can’t begin to imagine the value of what’s been planted in the souls of others and in your souls in a way impossible to calculate. But there is a number that jumps out…4942.2…rounding up to 4943 I’m going to add a decimal point and I’m going to suggest that everyone who has not contributed also add a decimal point in a place they can afford and send it in to 4 walls 4 all. If 323 people put the decimal place in the middle ….that would be 1 cent p/mile.
Thank you gentlemen for reminding us that there are people, young and old, across the country and the globe who need our help and that there are people, young and old, across the country and the globe who, in the process of their living, endeavor to help.
And thank you for the pleasure of following your triumphs and travails for the whole summer from my damn armchair.

Hey guys! You made it! Thank you for your inspiration. Few people in the world can say they traversed the country on two skinny wheels, sweat, and strong lungs…let alone in efforts to raise money to build sustainable homes for those that need it most…I know there were hard times…but you made it! I can not express in words how proud I am of y ou both. I look forward to seeing the progress of 4 Walls’ new community being built in the next few months. Love you!
you made it!!! who would have thought that a hapa and a guido riding their little bikes across the country could be two of the most inspirational people i think i’ve ever met! the sandpoint crew still stalks and talks about you fellas on the regular. i don’t know what we’re supposed to look forward to now that there will be no more blog updates. if you ever decide you just can’t stay away from sandpoint or the greater idaho area any longer, know that you’ll always lots of beds and dutch babies waiting for you (real beds this time, you don’t have to sleep in a tent unless you want). i’m so glad we met, and i just know one day we’ll see each other again! congratulations sam and henry, you’re both too rad for words!
